A Short glimpse into the Brown Ledge Gap Year Program

Barbershop

A documentary portrait of a neighborhood salon in the French Quarter of New Orleans that shows some of the unique character of the Big Easy. Warning: the language and humor is raunchy, so this video is not appropriate for younger viewers. Made by Taylor Korzeniewski in New Orleans during the 2010 Brown Ledge Gap Year Program.

Doreen Ketchens

A radio portrait of Doreen Ketchen's a respected New Orleans jazz performer who likes to play on the street. Note that this was imagined as a purely audio piece. This was made during the 2010 South Burlington Art Hop, by Teak Garvey, with the assistance of Luke Hartford, as part of the documentary training during the Brown Ledge Gap Year program.

Animal Shelter

An audio slideshow about an animal shelter and the animals there. Alexis Counsell made this portrait of the place where she was volunteering in Salt Lake City during the 2010 Brown Ledge Gap Year program.
